Terminal Frost, although you have said that it is not your view that life has no meaning, what you have written does, to me at least, make perfect sense. All the things you wrote about in that makes sense, and I agree with all that was said.

Thanks. Im a little slow on the response. War does that to a guy. There is a fallacy in the piece and thats that I dont completely justify God not being a purpose. You cant using just logic disprove the existance of God because the same arguments used to disprove God can be used to prove God.
For instance
I say God doesnt exist because there is no tangible evidence for his existance.
The believer says God does exist because there is no tangible evidence He does not exist.
This argumenat is errant because the ontological definition of God is that he is intangible and it is impossible to use proofs relying on tangibilty to prove/disprove God.
The proof for God being the meaning of life could be applied to the universal meaning of life possibility; saying that God doesnt exist to a Hindu he then doesnt exist in all individual realities therefore he is not universal. therefore ruling out him being the universal meaning of life. However in relation to the individual, it is possible to say God is the meaning of life because, as stated, one cannot completely disprove his existance; even though one can not tangibly prove his existance (in the sense of seeing him physically manifested; it is possibly from a creationist point of view to say the world around us is evidence; one must accept the possibility of order requiring a designer; in addition one might say that evidence for God could be the significant life changes some experience upon conversion; relying this on an outside catalyst because it is improbable that people change their entire lifestyle on their own; however that is in the realm of probabilties and not absolutes so it is still incomplete)
So thanks
i think i need to write a sequel to this.

Terminalfrost:
What if people do see God? Does that prove his existence? I met people from Mexico every day while I was with them who talked about a cousin or brother or uncle or grandmother who had seen and talked to God, Christ, or various saints.
What about them?
