...lost the x new posts link which used to take you to the last unread posting. This used to happen from time to time during under-the-bonnet tinkering but it always came back in the end.
Is it coming back this time or is it gone forever?
Being able to go to the last unread post was a major plus from the My convos window without having to divert back via my space all the time so it will be very much missed if it has gone.

Oh and it is all read, all the time so looks like there has been loads of activity, but it is just that they aren't going black when they have been read.

Hello kelli, it's nice to see so many familiar names coming back
What you're getting is a bug in the system and it's happening to a lot of people (maybe everyone?). Any road up, there's a new page for reporting bugs related to the new website and there's a conversation about it here F22114275?thread=8281802

Hi Gosho, I didn't go away! Well, only for two weeks of foop anyway but I'll accept hugs wherever they come from
I just saw Kea's thread about there being a new place for bug reports and have reported the problem there too.

Yeah, none of us really went away, but we couldn't come here for those two weeks. It's nice to see that big expanse of Blue Goo on my monitor again Especially since I bought a new, bigger monitor while the site was down, so now there's even more Goo to look at

Have just been to change my bookmarks to h2g2.com instead of the bbc so starting to believe it is real
It is quite amazing really. Do you think we'll lose many people on the way over? Seems like a few folks have been prodded into coming back, just out of curiosity.
Was definitely odd having to change my morning routine for the last couple of weeks and not open hootoo first thing. Glad we are now back in business.

A few people will probably fall by the wayside, mostly, I reckon, the people for whom this is just another online forum. And then there are people like you and me who see h2g2 almost as a second home. I know what you mean about the different routine too, it's been the same for me.
Key: Complain about this post
