Hello Eds,
The picture in this entry A29056601 says "The Granada skyline"

I´m from Granada and neither me nor any granadians I´ve shown that picture recognise it as the town of Granada.

You can also see some patches of land for crops. It can be from the province of Granada, but not from the town.

I´m not living in Granada now, but it won´t be too difficult to get a picture of the town from my friends or relatives. If you want/need it.

Hello again Maria. The picture came form the the BBC Picture Library and it is credited as 'Granada skyline'. Not being from the area, we cannot say either way if this correct or not. It is possible that the BBC library made a mistake. Are you quite sure there is nowhere in Granada that looks like this!?

Yes, I´m. Or better said, we are, as I´ve checked it with more people. That´s not the town of Granada. The landscape can be from the province of Granada, maybe the surroundings, most of us think it could be the near villages around mount Elvira (the bit of mountain slope thay appears at the left) They are not far from Granada, but not even with a zoom you could get that picture from any elevated point in Granada.

I´ve also been watching pictures in google of the surroundings and nothing matches if the picture would have been taken from Granada.

Well, that´s my "report".
My friends and relatives say that in any case that entry is pretty good and the picture "spoil" it somehow.

Hi Maria, thank you for getting back to us. I think it's best we try and find a better picture. However, in the meantime, we'll change the picture description to read 'A village in the province of Granada'. If you or any member of your family has a good pic of Granada and wouldn't mind letting use it then please do let us know!

Eds, have just sent the pic to the Feedback email address.

It's a view from the San Nicolas outlook, at the top of the Albaicín (the old arab neighbourhood) - the view is of the Alhambra and snowy mountains. It's a bit washed out due to early morning sun and old non-digital camera. But it is definitely Granada!
