Can't Access an Old Account

I used to be a member of H2G2 before the BBC took over. The process to transfer over accounts didn't work properly for me and I lost access. I'd like access to the old account so I can change the details (like the very out-of-date profile).
I can't use the password retrieve function, because it doesn't remember the old account. Instead, it sees the username as belonging to a new account (the one I'm posting this from).
How do I regain access to my old account?

Hi there, As you know, since you were last with us, we changed our registration system (we're also about to do it again: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F77636?thread=7070303). At that time, there was a window of opportunity to convert accounts but unfortunately this has now ended. The bad news is that this means your old Personal Space and account is locked out. However, while we can't transfer all of your old postings, what we can do is transfer the credits and (where necessary) editing rights for your old entries to your new account. We can also help you resubscribe to old conversations so you can pick up where you left off. We'll also be able to add a link to your old Personal Space from your new one so your old friends will be able to find your new home. Sorry it can't be better news, but let us know if you want us to start moving your entries across. Best wishes, h2g2 Eds

I'm more concerned about the profile than the entries, as it has old information and web links that no longer work. Can any of the admins edit it at all? Just blanking it out with "This account is no longer in use" would be something.

Probably best not to include a link. Otherwise if it happens again, it'll just be out-of-date again.
