kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website

Here's your old Personal Space:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/U211101

Have you tried logging into that account with the correct password? You will have to log out of your current h2g2 to do that, or use a different browser. What happens when you try logging in as Blue Bird?

Hello waumau,

We wrote a long reply to you recently explaining why your account is not working. During the time you were away there were changes in our registration and the 'window' of time during which people were able to transfer their accounts to the new system has long elapsed.

However, we also explained that we can transfer old entries and editing rights to your new account, and a redirect to the old one which shows people where your new account is.

Please do let us know if you'd like us to do this.

All the best,

h2g2 Editors

Dear Reader who ever you are: Greetings to you!
I knew BBC long long time ago from the old country where I came from. Browsing on my new computer in 2001 found h2g2 and registred at once!
I choose a name quickly and easily: Blue Bird and got a number as for a researcher at h2g2 U211101.

The name came from Maurice Maeterlink
Belgian author awarded with the Nobel prize.
"THE BLUE BIRD" was a very well celebrated work from him written in synbolic style. The book was in my parents library and I asked my mother about it. If I remember correctly she said something about the blue bird who makes people happy.
I never read the book but those words remained in my memory.
The forum of h2g2 seemed to me a place for communication and there one can make people happy I thought.
Since than in my broad actvity on the Internet I always used Blue Bird for my name.
With h2g2 I had good times made friends with everyday conversations but eventually I made my own website where I had opportunity to publish my paintings and photos. In the past 2 years I am the Publisher of a Web Magazine or Newsletters with the name:
Vaumau Times.
http://www.vaumau.com
It keeps me very busy, but from time to time I visited h2g2 and never had problem to log in. Until this time.
I did an update in 2009, but it seems just missed the "turn over" and I was locked out.
My log in name was not Blue Bird, but All_and_more, same number what no idea of the password.
Let me ask you this:
I can Identify myself with the number itself, because I am the only one to have that number.
Since you can deny the password for All_and_more you know the password!
All these thngs are human invention, thefore changable.
I claim that my #U211101 is as good as any password!
A prisoner have to give up the name, but get a number for ID.
We use numbers in shopping for ID of a merchendise.
We have numbers for paying taxes and our property has number and not passwords.
The idea of the password is a human invention and does not give more security than a unique number.
Perhaps h2g2 would require in the future to present the DNA from our body! Gee! something better than words.
Yeah, verba volent, but you can dig up dna-s of long dead creatures.
After all this by locking the door for Blue Bird #U211101 you locking out a human who want to make people happy on the pages of h2g2.
