New Conversation re The Thesis

(I think I've got to the right page at last)
Query: Does anyone remember the interview Douglas Adams did with Tim Sebastian on 'Hardtalk'? He was asked about the weird coincidences that were shown up in his work by a doctoral thesis.(I don't remember in which University).
The doctoral candidate had found 16th Century sources (even with the name 'Arthur Dent') pertaining to a Puritan postulant to a prebend in Hampshire(?)and went on to demonstrate that Adams had drawn on these centuries old events to creat his most famous work.
(It was impressive to see Adams slowly nodding his head in baffled recognition murmurring, 'Yeah, yeah, spooky..')
So. Does anyone know where this Thesis can be read, or consulted, or have any other info relevant to its author?

Many thanks in advance.

Just did a British Library search:

http://catalogue.bl.uk

Search the integrated catalogue for "Arthur Dent" and it throws up a 17th century article...

Thanks very much Icy North.
Sorry I've taken a wile to get back to you.
The BL link needs money I haven't got to consult its 'Arthur Dent' 1617 source.
Still, with the date, I can cut down and redefine my search options.
Thanks againsmiley - smiley
