Changing "My Home"

Just signed up as a researcher and am sad to say that I am unable to update my preferences or "My Home" page. I tell it to change but the changes are not saved.

I see that you do have something on your page, as well as a name. Have you solved the problem, or do you still need help?
Just reply to this post if you're still having problems or if there's anything else we can do to help.
Have to run now, but I'll drop by your home page a little later and see how you're doing.

I needed to hit the reload button is all. Silly mistake on my part. There was an error in the instructions though. The detail button is not on the left, In fact, I could not find a details button.
Thanks

Yeah, we've been after them to change the newcomer instructions and don't panic. The my details button on the left is in the classic goo skin which used to be the only one. They moved things around with the alabaster skin and made it the default for newcomers, but didn't update the instructions.
If you go to 'preferences' in the light blue box on the right and then change the skin to classic goo and update, you'll see what I mean. You can always change it back and forth to whatever you wish.
Also, for regular pages like home pages and guide entries, you can temporarily see what it looks like in the other skin by adding
?skin=alabaster
or
?skin=classic
to the address in the location bar.
