h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'd like to make the suggestion that the powers-that-be at H2G2
keep two seperate guides. One for factual earthly concerns and another for fun. The fun guide, which should be the Guide to the Galaxy, would be just like the guide in the series by Mr. Adams. Think of a million people adding millions of entries of a purely fantastic nature- It would be a hell of a lot of fun to see what other alien races and cultures might be lurking in the darks recesses other people's minds. The entries could be officiated just like the real guide, to preserve a universal continuity. I for one would volunteer to help bring to project to fruition. Please jump on the bandwagon here and support this idea. There are a lot of possibilities to have fun with this.

Seems to me we have that now. Approved Guide Entries and regular Guide Pages, with the advantage that you can easily access both. I've seen and met quite a few interesting aliens, while also learning the facts about parsnips, for example.

I still think that it'd be a lot more fun to set up a guide strictly as a multi-collaberative Sci-Fi encyclopedia. Parsnips are all fine-and-dandy...but the original entry for the entire planet Earth was, "Harmless." It's beyond me as to why they'd leave out The Great Wall of China, condoms, or PeeWee Herman but still have an entry for parsnips.

I think it would be great if you wrote entries on The Great Wall, Condoms, or PeeWee Herman. If they don't exist already, they're definitely needed.

Or how about the Great Wall of Condoms of the planet libedo?...Hmmm
