I'm trying to update the Idiots Computer dictionary, but for some reason I can only delete text in it and not add any.

What in bobs name is going on and when will it be sorted?

This is the first I've heard of this one Croz.Can you give me a page reference? Can you explain this a bit more. Can you paste in? If you can't type in, it's more likely to be a browser problem, which one are you using? You could try re-starting your browser.

It's unlikely to be a problem this end unless it doesn't update when you try to update, then it could be our server. But we've no reported problems with that at the moment.

At first I thought it was a problem with the keyboard I was using, so I switched to a different machine, the problem still occurred.


I can cut and delete from the document, but I am prevented from pasting and typing in the entry box. Typing in the title box doesn't seem to be affected and I can happily change the title to my hearts content.
I switched from Netscape on NT to Netscape on UNIX. UNIX allows me to type in the entry box but it doesn't update.

What is very strange is that none of my other entries seem to be behaving in this manner. Odd isn't it?

Ok I'm starting to freak out a little.

I was trying to update the idiot dictionary in Internet Explorer whilst I had Netscape still open and the site threw a major wobbler.
It refused to recognise I was a resercher and eventually when it did, it gave me a completely blank userpage. Luckily everything is still there so why on earth it did that is anyone's guess.

Oh yeah, editing with IE failed.

Don't worry Croz. Had nothing to do with you. We were all returned to new users for a few moments there. Same thing happend at midnight BST last night. Most likely a server hiccup of some kind that's part of settling down with a major change. That'll smooth over time.

Regarding your editing problem: Just a thought. Have you tried taking your entry (copy and paste from the edit screen) to a text editor, making the changes/additions and then pasting the lot into the edit screen?
