Spell Checker

To anyone who is interested there is a free spell checker that works with web browsers.
What is more important is that it works with hootoo.
Read about it and download from - http://www.iespell.com/
It suggested that hootoo should be hoodoo.

AspellFox for FireFox

also works, and avoids the need to use the (IMHO) truly awful MSIE.

HD. Can't tell you if 'ieSpell' would run on FireFox but I suspect it would.
Must get round to installing FireFox on my latest computer.
Currently running WindowsXP with Internet Explorer 7 Beta2 and 'ieSpell' goes hand in glove with that system.

I thought IE7 was still on the 'test bed' so I didn't download it yet. How worthwhile is it to get it now?

Better than 6 but still has some problems with standards compliance (but not as many as MSIE 6), although on one web-site I administer IE7 flipped out on a page that IE6 (and IE 4) showed no problem although to fair the CSS was a bit sloppy and once I'd belt and braced the CSS it worked fine with IE7.
But to be honest I'd still say you would be better of with one of the alternatives (FireFox, Sea Monkey, Opera, etc).

The Google toolbar do one. But they also save all your Google searches. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Tsk, tsk. Do we not know how to navigate h2g2 forums yet? How sad. My post was a reply to the first.
The Google Toolbar has an inbuilt spell-checker.
Note the use of the 'medical we'.

You don't expect me to check this funny tree for every posting I see, just because you are too lazy to mention which posting you are referring to ? I mean, this is not exactly a fast running conversation.
