Hmm

I have had a post removed, but I have no idea why and I didn't see the e-mail explaing why because I can no longer access the account I registered with. I have now changed my details to include my new e-mail.

Would it be possible to have the e-mail forwarded there, please?

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Hi, I too have also had two posts moderated/removed seemingly on teh grounds they had my Email address in them; one a journal entry that just never appeared on my PS, the other in a conversation thread. So, from this we are now to pressume that we cannot divulge our Email addresses at all to any other users on the site? How about when we've got em displayed on our PS? smiley - ermsmiley - erm

And, ahving just reread the 'terms and blah blah blah thinggy', the closed I've found was :
'• Be careful with including email addresses, instant messaging numbers and the like in contributions, and please do not include anyone else's personal details.
You may include your own personal email address or instant messaging number in your contributions (providing it is acceptable, ie not vulgar or offensive),
but please be aware that you are potentially opening yourself up to a lot of email, and possibly spam email too, and you should be absolutely sure that
you want people to be able to contact you like this. We recommend you set up a new email account specifically for people to contact you on, if you wish
to publicise a contact point. It's OK to include general contact details for companies, for example, but you must only include publicly available details,
such as the address of a restaurant, the telephone number if it is in the telephone directory, or the email address for a company's customer support. It
is not acceptable to publicise anyone else's private contact details other than your own, and we will remove any such postal addresses or telephone numbers
from contributions. Due to the public nature of this website, we strongly recommend that you do not post the personal details of children or minors; you
should always consider whether or not the information you are posting is suitable for a public forum or if it might inadvertently put the child(ren) at
risk in some way.
• Only include suitable URLs in your contributions. Links to unsuitable websites will be removed, so if you are considering contributing something that'

smiley - erm it doesn't say anywhere in there that I can see that you 'can't* post your Email addrdss, just htat it is recomended* that you don't... So? smiley - erm </confussed?

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

What exactly is the message that's currently up in place of the posts? If a post is hidden pending moderation because it has been referred to the Eds, you won't get an email until the decision has been made whether or not it breaks the House Rules. If the post is found to have broken the HRs, then *and only then* will you get the email. If it doesn't, the post will be reinstated. This being the Easter weekend, the Eds will have been out of the office since last Thursday evening so the moderation backlog will be dealt over the coming few days.

If the message says that the post has been removed because it broke the HRS, you should have had an email. If you didn't update your details when you changed addresses you may or may not be able to get the Eds to resend the message to your new address, or at least tell you why the post was removed - depends how busy they are and how far down their list of priorities that sort of thing is. Quite a long way down, I would have thought. If the decision was made solely by the Mods and it never even reached the Eds for a decision, I don't know how easy it'll be to persuade them to find time to go digging for it.

Smij - Formerly Jimster

If you've updated your email address in your preferences, then should there be any cause to contact you, the mail will always go to the email address that is currently in the Registration system regardless of whether that was your email address when the post was alerted to a Moderator.

Hopefully you'll be able to get an answer one way or the other before the end of today.
