h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Been back from Peru for 4 days now, and astonishingly the memories of the trip have not vanished, as normally happens, when after 24 hours at home, it feels as through I have never been away, and the trip happened to someone else.

Machu Picchu was the most amazing place I have visited so far, and Peru awash with astounding and mind-blowing scenery. We stayed in some beautiful hotels, trampled across endless Inca ruins and topped it off by seeing a condor two days in a row. (Right over Machu Picchu - what a double whammy - thank you God!).

And now in preparation for my next trip I'm off to join the gym...

For some reason I can't reply to your "back from Peru" the site keeps asking me to register as a member!!! It's probably me. Anyway, been ultra busy and travelling a lot. I'm pleased to hear that you had a great trip. Your right about Lima. I know Peru quite well. I have family and an apartment just outside Lima, although I live in Canada and probably travel to Peru twice a year.

Where are you going for your next trip?

Hi Manawak (Interesting name...)

How fantastic to be able to go to Peru twice a year...I have to say the one thing I did LOVE about Lima was the Ceviche - I could eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner and never get bored (or fat...).

And the corn....wow!

It's probably a good thing I can't go there twice a year as I would buy so many rugs, pots, bags, (you name it - I bought it!), that I would need a warehouse for storage!

In two weeks I'm off to Lake Winnapasaukee in New Hampshire(USA) for a short visit.

Then in December I'm going to Brazil, starting off in Rio. Hence the gym membership, as I understand thong bikinis are "de rigeur" in Rio, and I have to pummel my body into shape! (Believe me, that is one very TALL order).

Which reminds me, must go work out now...
