h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Nothing exciting, just some band news... After the unmitigated disaster of our last gig, we've got another! Arranged last thursday for this thursday, a support slot for a metal/rock band in a metal 'eads pub (I should know, I drink there a lot!)...

Ah well, it'll be a free practice if nothing else and I bought special red plectrum earrings that say 'I'm with the band' in a fit of semi-ironic idiocy. I will be wearing them.

On a slightly different tack, I will be dressing like a girl this friday... Shock horror, I know! for a 50's themed night of burlesque and related performing arts. The main theme is 'Domestic Appliances'. I'm going to BE a domestic appliance. (So far, in red shorts, red heels and black fishnets... The top is undecided as yet but may be a red and white gingham bustier...)

Which is patently NOT normal! Anyone can see that, and shopping for it has been nothing short of horiffic!

I hate clothes shopping! I'm rather male about it all. I mean, I can browse all day but if I'm under pressure to find something I hate it. I walk into a shop, quick walk and glance round, if I see nothing I like, I will walk back out again. None of this loving everything business. *bleurgh*

I even bought me new high heels on the basis they were the right colour, weren't too high and fit me. Yes please I'll have them. bye.

To make myself feel better, I bought a record (yes, vinyl) off ebay. Some random band called Wolfpack. I youtubed them , they are sort of cheesy death metal. 'Ace!' Thought I! So that's ok...

Thanks for the good luck... So long as they dont throw bottles at us I'm gonna enjoy myself so em all!

For the record, the gingham bustier never arrived and I've had to set Paypal onto em... I wonder if they died before they could send it? I keep feeling bad for hassling them, I have this weird faith in human kindness that says something terrible must have happened because nobody would rip me off for eight quid would they? But then nobody replied to my emails asking where it was... So then I get self-righteously angry... Then I feel bad...
