Tim Horton coffee and doughnuts, Smarties (also avail. in the UK) and Craven "A" or DuMaurier ciggies. Maple Leaf flag emblems on all your suitcases and hats, lest you'd be mistaken for a yank.

President's Choice Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookies are a must-bring for any Canadian travelling abroad.

On the flip side, I have a friend from the UK who desperately missed salad cream while she lived in Canada.

Whatever happened to Peter Jackson cigarettes? They sold them in 1981 when I was there last. I had to come home cos my dad passed on ( his name was peter jackson). The packet was maroon and black. With some of the money he left me bought my first car, a Citroen 2CV Charleston with a maroon and black paint job as a sought of momento. When I went back this year all I could see was the du maurier things and they were awful!

P.S. for a country that is doing it's best to make smoking so anti-social, its bumming out with the kids! all the 18-25 year olds I saw smoked

They're the ones who started before people got all against it.

I've found that I really miss people not saying wierd stuff about how I talk. That and some decent Nestea or Good H osticed tea (from powder)

Don't forget Tim Hortains timbits, Canadian beer, Molson Canadian commercials, 22 Minutes(TV program), American jokes, and for Canadians traveling in U.S., people who can locate Canada on the map.

My Mum who moved to Canada soem years ago brought over some President's Choice instant goodies to make my life back in Blighty more interesting. All they seemed to do was sit in the pan and hiss evily at me. (I never had the courage to eat any of them - perhaps Canucks are made of sterner stuff?)

It's the living in igloos. jk.

I actually miss people who realize that when you talk about getting your liscence, you don't mean for a dogsled.
