Munchkin

Er ... um ... let me see

I'm Munchkin and I spent seven years at the University of Glasgow, phaffing about the West End and harrasing people in pubs. I have a love of Victoriana and Dr. Who and have been known to sup the fabled alcohol in a number of establishments in the city. Incidently, I'm not called Munchkin due to my pre-ponderance for Heavy Metal or, indeed, being six years old but for my habit of skipping down Byres Road singing "Hey Ho the witch is dead".

How's that?

Lost in Scotland

Okay, here goes.....

"I'm Lost in Scotland, a Swedish guy that decided that my part of Sweden wasn't as interesting as Scotland, so I moved here instead. I've been over here for a while now, and I don't have any immediate plans on moving away. My name reflects more of a state of mind than being geographically lost, so no maps can help me at the moment."

Jamie

Ah ah ah hemmmmm...

I'm Jamie and I too spent seven years at the University of Glasgow, phaffing about with physics and getting harrased in pubs by passing Munchkins. During this time I completely failed to go to the Garage once, which is apparently unique for a Glasgow student. My favourite authors are Iain (M) Banks and Robert Rankin, and I'm sure any Freudian psycologists out there will have a field day with that fact. Along with many of my associates, I am a part-time member of the trebuchet appreciation society (whoosh! bonk).

Ross

I've lived in Glasgow 25 years (all my life), and I'm at Glasgow University now studying divinity. I would be happy to provide a guide on some of the smells to be found in Glasgow - from the incredible springtime rainscent in the Kibble Palace, to the overwhelming stench of sewage which hangs over Govan for 70% of the year, via a network of urine-soaked subway tunnels.

Frankly I'd write anything else you want as well.

Hiya, Bren. Happy new year to you. I almost popped in at WTG the other day, but you were closing up, so I thought you just wanted to finish up and go home, so I passed on it.

Hope you had a nice holiday season and that all is well. smiley - cheers

Hey, Brenmac.. Lost here... To get the latest about the Scottish Researchers, head over to A599376 which is the Scottish Researcher's Group home page. We're planning an Easter Meet right now.
We did in deed met up at Christmas and had a few drinks at the Counting House.

Ocarina Cave Girl

Hmm... Well not sure I qualify as a Glasgow researcher being American and all, however I spent 2 months at the Uni of Strathclyde a few years back... fell in love with the town (which most of my friends seem to be biased against... I'll trade them over-tourist-y Edinburgh for Glasgow anyday... as long as I can visit!) I can offer insight on travel as a poor student on a budget (I had a grand total of 3000 US$ to spend on everything, and managed to have some left over!)
