Hi, my name is Bassman, one of the A.C.E.s (Assistant Community Editors) here at H2G2. It is my job to give you an insight as to what goes on here and to offer assistance.
Here are all the good places to go:
Got a problem - ask the A.C.E.s here: http://www.h2g2.com/Aces
Use the "Dont Panic" button which appears on every page - try it, you know it makes sence.
Use the "Search The Guide" button to find entries that researchers have made. If you have anything to add - join in the forum and say so.
Want to add extras to your own page - check this out: http://www.h2g2.com/GuideML-Clinic
Want to find out about H2G2 news and gossip - try here: http://www.h2g2.com/U54963
Go here to meet "Newbies" like yourself: http://www.h2g2.com/U130387
H2G2 Quick Reference Guide: http://www.h2g2.com/A344756
Or for additional places to go visit my homepage (Click on my name above) find the drop down menu towards the bottom and hang ten!!
That seems to have most things covered, if you give me an idear of what you're into I will be happy to advise further.

Hi There Bassman,
Thanks for such a very warm welcome. Im into college right now and Im studying medical technology. Ilive in a small town here in Negros Island and my town is one of the preserved area in the Philippines because of its marine life. it's a nice diving place but not crowded by tourist because it is quite secluded but as of now, there are Marine biologists studying about corals and other marine life preservation. Well, that's all i can tell right now. Wishing you to have a nice day and goodluck. It was really nice to be part of h2g2.
Very truly yours,
Thanks Bassman

I hope you're not thinking of leaving us already - you've only just got here.
Your part of the world sounds wonderful, you'll have to post some pics on your homepage for all the other researchers to look at.
Thanks Bassman

I read a small paperback that gave me a basic idear of how HTML works. On my page I have slected to work in HTML rather than Plain Text , or GUIDE ML.
The picture must be loaded on a server somewhere, you can create yourself a web page with the pic on, or get yourself an account with fotango for example and then down load some pictures there. When done you need to make reference to the required picture in command:

Put this code on your page and you'll get a rather poor picture of me. The important bit is the:
If things still aren't clear then ask again. It's always easy to blind people with science when they are unfamiliar with a subject.
I was trying to make a web page for my band. I learned some HTML, spent hours writing the code getting things sorted, linking pages to others, getting pictures involved - the whole nine yards. None of the other guys gave me any input whatsoever as to what they wanted their space to look like, so that was the end of that!!
Thanks Bassman

He he know the feeling... they even tell you to do it, and when the layout and all the fancy stuff is done, they don't know what to put on it... it's irritating.
Now I only make small pages for my own amuse...
Hola Kay, I'll prob. put a pic of you up somewhere, then you can make a link to that (I'll show you how...
