This entry stems from a thread conversation with Fragilis the Melodical who was bemoaning the fact that much of the English speaking world's education system stems from "Victorian Geezers with Beards". Well, it does, and many were British, and there's not much to be done about that from here. However, it was a good point, and it got me thinking about these chaps, among whom perhaps John Ruskin is a personal favourite. I started off to do an entry about him, and got sidetracked, as you see. Linton is a lesser light. But, if a 'lesser light' can do all this, then what hope is there for we ordinary mortals.

This Conversation has been sin-binned because it's a duplicate - we've left the other Conversation in Peer Review, so don't panic.

Since this was written, many years ago, my interest in Mr Linton has continued, and I have recently corrected, expanded and (possibly) improved this essay. Unfortunately, in the intervening period, my guideML skills have withered, and it will take me some time to post it on h2g2. I will, though, persevere, and let you know if and when it is ready. (I'm with you, Bluebottle)
Key: Complain about this post
