the smiths in my opinion are the best band to come out of the eighties and as any smiths fan will know morrisey is probably the best lyricist ever and the rythym section comprising of mike joyce and andy rourke are cracking musicians and i had the plearure of meeting the man [aandy rourke] afew months back and he was a proper safe guy who i hardly reckonised and i did get very drunk and waschatting alot of crapp and that still didnt put him off talking to me apparently the last i heard him and joyce were back working together and apparently played a secret gig with ian brown in a dogy pub in altrincham

It'd be good if that rhythm section did work together again.
How's Andy Rourke looking these days? As mentioned in the guide entry, he did have some serious health problems at one time.

yes yes i met him in a dingy little place called mutz nutz in town he does the rounds in the indy clubs he did look a bit worse for wear but so did i he said hes all over that now and was working on an album with joyce and i can say he was a proper safe guy he was with paul davies happy mondays keyboard player and gilly out of the inspirals and was suprised how down to earth andy and davies but that gilly was a bit up his own arse as is clint boon who i seen in satans hollow once djing i asked him for a roses tune and he told me to f off cos he didnt like the roses i suspect just a tinge of jealousy although saturn 5 is without doubt one of the best tunes of the eighties reply back with your top 10 or 15 top manc or indy classics
