h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well, got the results back from FPC tests and all appears normal on chemical balance and stuff like that. Which while it don't explain what the hell is going on, at least it's not an infection or thyroid problem and my hobgoblins seem to be coping well enough.

I've got to get myself shifted, packed and off to the folks for the festivities (eating and sleeping that is) but I've re-discovered why I try not to spend too much time on h2g2. It's far too addicitve, even when there are few people about. At least it's improving my typing skills.

I'm listening to Terry, enjoying not rushing around trying to get sorted for work, and starting to fume about the fact that the papaers apopear to be going on about things like 'try a goose this year' It's too bleeding late to get an idea like that is it not? I went to Tescos last night and they didn't even have much in the way of ready-meals! The locusts had been in. The possibility of finding a fresh chiken or frozen turkey today is vanishingly small, never mind a bleeding Goose or Duck. Hmph.

And then we have Nigella's step by step guide to x-mas eve and x-mas day. Go boil your heid. In most instances I do like her, but fer heavens sake! I know there are folks who don't know how to cook, but if you forget summat it's not the end of the world (unless of course it's taking the turkey out of the freezer, at which point it's just too bloody late. Have cheese on toast or just the trimming and have the roast on Boxing day. It's not as if you haven't bought enough food to feed the five thousand for the rest of etermity - judging by the trolley loads I saw in tecos last night)
