I was looking for an entry like this, and when I didn't find it I was a little suprised. Perhaps an entry like this (hopefully this one) could lead to a category within sports. The topic is pretty popular, at least in the States.
Hope you enjoy!

When it comes to gambling or fantasy sports, I'm sure you can find SOMEONE to play. . .

I'm not in any hurry, but if someone could take a look at this entry and give me an impression I would really appreciate it.
It's my first effort, and the GuideML was a little different than the HTML editor I used oh-so-very-long-ago, so I don't know if I over-stylized it or if it's reasonably stylish.

Hi Friar,
That's an interesting article, and a topic I'm glad someone has brought up.
Your article is a bit Americocentric: perhaps I could write a bit for you on Fantasy Soccer to help extend it to the rest of the world
The second thing is, even I (a mildly avid fan of US sports) found it hard to follow your comments on rules, team composition and scoring systems - I'd really like to see three seperate categories of this, and rules taken out of the footnotes.
In determining team composition, please note that most sports outside the US don't use drafts, so the concept is not always familiar and may need explanation. There are two methods commonly used in the UK:
1. For large-scale competitions, such as those run by newspapers, each player is given a price by the organisers, and each "team manager" starts off with a fixed amount of cash which will buy the services of a few good players and a few weaker ones, or all mediocre players. Players can appear in an unlimited number of teams.
2. For a group of a dozen or so friends, by far the most fun is to have an auction, where every player can only be bought by one manager. Then the really hot properties command sky-high prices and there's a whole new layer of tactics.
Our sports don't use statistics as heavily as US ones, so points tend to be awarded for specific events (eg scoring a goal in Soccer), and those points totalled up. Some explanation of how you use the stats to determine a winner would be welcome.
Please plug away at it, I'd really look forward to seeing this article as it might become. We may even find enough people for some fantasy leagues run through h2g2!

I'm also confused as to why the Fantasy Golf subheader has nothing underneath it.
I didn't have any problems understanding the details of the entry, but that may be because I'm an American and my family has its own fantasy football league.
I'd suggest including some links to some of the better developed fantasy sports sites.
I've actually seen people going at Fantasy Water Polo once, which was a bit too much for me.

Editorial Note: This Conversation has been moved to the new 'Flea Market' Forum.
This is where we move any Peer Review, Writing Workshop or Alternative Writing Workshop Conversations where the original author has *not* posted to h2g2 for three months. This prevents the active Review Forums from clogging up with dormant entries, but in the Flea Market they can be picked up by others and polished off.
