Need I say more? We have just been to a concert by this band. They are amazingly energetic. There is a pianist, a violinist, two recorder players and a cellist.
Unfortunately for the first few pieces the sound mix was wrong and you couldn't hear the recorders at all. The lights weren't right either - they kept going on and off at the wrong times in the wrong places. But our town's concert hall is terrible for that sort of thing. The heating is never right there either.
Never mind. It was quite enthralling and impossible to categorise. The programme included jazz, folk, and classical music by Japanese, Korean, Turkish and other rare composers.
The recorder players changed instruments constantly, and had an arsenal of some 6 different-sized instruments lined up. On top of that, they had two bass recorders made from organ pipes (one wooden, one metal) They were so low, you could hardly hear them!

They sound good.
A lot of their music sounds as if it would be nice to dance to. Who doesn't like dance music?

"I played a solo -- so low you couldn't hear it"
I'm sure that's Morecambe and Wise.

I can't remember Eric Morecambe saying that. Will have a look...
They certainly danced while playing. Well, the recorder players did. the cellist less so.
The cellist played a solo piece called "Stonehenge" which was quite amazing. Got the biggest applause of the evening.
According to the programme, it was by someone called Peter Pejtsik.

I remember it well! But although the Spinal Tap song may well be suited for the treatment, I'm pretty sure it was an original composition. It did veer off into some folky bits at points, and had some heavy beats.....
Anyway, the whole hall was riveted by these five minutes of cello solo.
Here's a version, but the sound reproduction isn't as good.
