You can call me TC

All the kids at home this Easter Saturday. It was one of those moments. I went out in the garden to hang out some washing, (idyllic in itself, I suppose, to some). Son No 2 was trying out his rock-climbing apparatus on the walnut tree, No 1 was watching and giving advice. No 3 was filing and drilling in the open garage, working on some university project. Hubby was pottering around the garden.

A very rare and idyllic situation. Now No 2 has some bread proving and I must clean the oven quick (This time it's my fault, yesterday's dinner bubbled over and made a mess. Normally it's their pizzas dripping on the oven floor)

Good on you to ctach this moment in writing. smiley - smiley

Neither of my sons is at home today, but no #1 did the hoovering (as requested by his dad) while we were out shopping, so that was great.
Now all I'll have to do is the laundry and maybe some cooking later.

Sounds lovely. I managed to take Max for a good foresty walk this morning in the drizzle, but we've had some heavy rain this afternoon, so no gardening for me.

Happy Easter to you allsmiley - bunnysmiley - chick

Ooh, talking of food stuff, TC, i am vegetarian...but perfectly happy with cheese and salad stuff (i don't eat much)

Here in sometimes sunny Eye Land, i am plotting the vegetable patch, P is reinforcing fences 'cos the smiley - sheep are due to lamb any day and we feel having Wooliesmiley - dog and Hootoo donkey trying to assist may not be helpful...

P informs me there is a German tradition of on Easter Sunday pouring a bucket of cold water over a suitable victim whilst they sleep. I reckon he is making this up and is an Evil Person.

I think you've got him sussed on that cold water thing. Maybe in the Army (will ask hubby)

No problems with veg food. I've picked a Bavarian restaurant for us to eat at for the German meet, but even they will do something like Käsespätzle, veg hotpot or salads these days - it's not all Schweinshaxe.

I'm used to catering for vegetarians - most of my kids' friends are non-meat-eaters, including future DiL, who can joke about it, as she is often fed by well-meaning aunts and grannies who think that lamb is vegetarian meat, or if it's organic it's OK. This includes my Mum who is such a good cook and is so sweet that even vegetarians will eat her salmon Sunday lunch....

Happy Easter!

The sky is blue, the lambs are bouncy, and there are about 400 people out enjoying our Easter event. smiley - smiley

It'd be more idyllic if I didn't have to wear a March Hare costume, though smiley - laugh

Tee hee - my son had to bounce around his rope course in an Easter Bunny costume last Easter Monday. It was a very hot day, and climbing in that suit can't have been fun.

Lots of parents took photos of him with their kids.

I was the Queen of Hearts today. I did get a fair few people taking my picture (with their kids), but I told them if it wasn't a flattering photo, I'd have their heads cut off smiley - zen

That's the spirit, Mala.

TC, I find that if you're a vegetarian in Germany, unless the dish you are ordering (or the restaurant you are ordering it in) specifically states Vegetarian you have to order simply everything "ohne fleisch"

Just to be on the safe side. Although it's a lot more enlightened now, when I was a "German" Vegetarian back in the 80s and 90s it was a struggle to get anything without bits of meat in it.

Yes, even only recently when out for a meal with colleagues, some of whom are Moslem, they had something with potato salad, or fried potatoes, and in true German style it was spiked with little bits of bacon. They were fine about replacing it with the pork-free version, though.

This has prompted me to check out the menus in the restaurants I've planned on using for the Mannheim meet.

I'm sure everything will be fine.
