Not being from your locale, frankly, I'm curious. Well, not as a permanent psychological and/or physical condition, but about your introduction. What is the program "Stars in Their Eyes"?

To be honest, I know very little about it - other than it's a talent show, of sorts, and it involves you performing an act as one of your showbiz heroes.
If your hero just so happens to portray a homicidal maniac most of the time, well, so be it...
(It's a Brit thing...)

So what happens if, say, you idolize something other than a human being. Like a sloth.
America had a similar sort of show awhile back. Ed MacMahon (Johnny Carson's erstwhile sidekick and Publishers Clearing House spokesdrunkard) hosted a show called "Star Search". I understand Britney Spears got her start there.
You never know what sort of horror is spawned from these programs.

AKK! you have just told us one of the horrors spawned by this type of program... Britney!!
They are prevelent because they are dirt cheap just like the Jerry Springer type programs, where the only expense is replacing the chairs that get broken over peoples heads.
If I went on Stars on Thier Eyes, it would have to be as Alice Cooper.
.....what a guy. lol

Do you think the British viewing public is ready for The Caffeine Kid doing his impersonation of Mr. Cooper? After all you have to overcome the cultural Zeitgeist known as the Spice Girls.
Just to remind you that England can be responsible for teenybopper twits as well.
