I find it hard to believe that, seeings as you write 'English' and 'person' as one word, and misuse the "since" construction. Or are you trying to fool us! anyway. Welcome to the GerManiaConnection. Come and have a drink at the Bulettenbude: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F36649?thread=95200&latest=1 It's on me - wine from the Palatinate - Dornfelder! Or some of Englnder's home made beer.

Hi guys, I'd like to join.

My German is quite bad but by the time you get running again in German I should be able to at least tell what you are talking about even if I cant respond. A particular intest of mine is archaeology, in particular conservation of achaeological objects. Obviously this is a difficult area because so many meanings rely on context, nut I am trying, s...l..o..w..l...y....... smiley - smiley

(Can any one translate 'Fully Assimilated Borg Tribble' into German?)

Anyone who knew what it was would probably know enough English to understand it in the original anyway.

But what have the Borgs got to do with the tribbles anyway? Or did I miss an episode?

FABT - new venture A815654 Angel spoiler page

Legend has it that the staff of Star Trek TNG in the states receive all manner of strange things through the post from the fans. One day they got a fully assimilated borg tribble which they liked so much that they kept. Don't remember where I read this but one day at school my brain shut down and when I woke up this was all I had in my head. I've been FABT ever since when ever I need an alternate identity and to be honest I have to stop myself from signing it at the bottom of Emails to important people.

There must be lots of newbies out there who speak some German but havent found this page yet. How can we get on the front page and get some attention?

This used to be much easier, as the front page was far more flexible and you could ask for a mention. Nowadays there's so much going on that they have to limit that and I think it's far harder for newbies to find their way around. If people make a search for the words "German" or "Germany" they should find us quite easily.

I am truly sorry that you've had to wait - especially Genfinch, who was the last to go on the list before H2G2 went down. I am just rather a disorganised person and also very thorough, which doesn't go together. I have 3 kids and the PC belongs to my husband. I have a part time job and need at least half a day of no interruptions to get this thing on the road again. Once I have, I shall make a point of updating immediately all requests (as Fragilis recommends in her guide to starting a sub-community, or whatever she calls it.)

However, if anyone would like to help it speed up, I would appreciate help with checking all the links to users for a start. Are they still active?
Have they written any new entries other than those listed? (pls give a-numbers.)
Have they cancelled - or not reactivated - any old entries that are listed?
I warn you, I'm thorough - and I expect you to be too!!!!!!!

This is the bulk of the work. Systematically through the Who's Who and Who was Who.

Please join the GMC e-group if you haven't already and contact me there by e-mail - I can tell you how far I've got, and work out a roster.

And nice to have you here FABT - you came along to my East Anglian group too, so that gives us a lot in common! Actually - maybe the tribbles were the foreriders to the borgs - as they seemed to be one entity - albeit a fast-growing one!
