although I don't think I have much advise to offer.


I suppose she knows what you feel for her and how much you'd like her to be happy - possibly with you.


as far as I can see the most generous offer you can make is to be there for her - unless it is too difficult for you to stay in contact without getting the relationship you are longing for.

it's very stupid that even big love can be unrequited.

which doesn't make it smaller - but more hurtful.


in times I felt stupid for how my heart behaved it sometimes helped to remember Geneen Roth's 'no act of love is ever wasted'.

it may not bring you what you're wishing for - but at least you don't deny the strenght and beauty of it.


unfortunately there's no guarantee that she'll change her mind about being with you. * sigh *

but maybe some day you'll be able to say 'it was a sad story but I did what I could'.


a trick that might help to find out how to go on: imagine a friend tells you the story and asks you for advice about it.
