Gnomon - time to move on Started conversation May 29, 2012
This is getting too much for me.
First I removed a badge from a sub-editor because she had been in the position for three months but had not done any sub-editing. She went off in a huff, left h2g2, and published my personal details on a publicly visible Facebook page, blocking me from the page so that I can't complain to Facebook about it.
Then I was shouted at by a group of volunteers when I tried to help improve some guide entries, a task I've actually been appointed to do.
I decided to do something that I could to help improve the site by documenting the publishing process. I made the mistake of using the new Pliny wysiwyg editor. Thirty minutes of typing down the tubes, lost without trace, when I clicked the Save button.
Arghh!

I'm sure there's a way of complaining to Facebook. If all else fails, contact them directly:

Thanks, TRiG and Icy. I believe some of my friends, who have not been blocked from the page, have already complained to Facebook about it, but I'm not sure that Facebook will see anything wrong with publishing someone's h2g2 and real life names together.
Ah well, I'll think I'll go back into my shell, and work on documentation using the reliable Alabaster editor.

I rarely use Facebook, but I'll log in when I can, to add another complaining voice on your behalf.
I never understood why we need a wizzywig editor on h2g2. It must be the lowest of the low priorities, seriously. I've only ever used Notepad, then pasted it into Alabaster for parsing.

I lost some stuff in Pliny once, but got it back with the Back button.

Sadly, the back button didn't retrieve my text.
The wysiwyg editor will allow people who don't want to learn HTML to write entries and do some minimal formatting on them such as headers, bullet point lists and so on.

Which browser were you using? For me, it seems to be browser-dependent whether the back button retrieves anything.

Thanks, Elentari. But I don't feel so bad today. We're adopting new procedures which should make things a lot easier for everybody, and I've converted the document I was working on so that I can now edit it in Brunel.

Back button came up trumps for me in Chrome

I'd like to add my own well-wishes.
I've frankly been astounded to see you holding up so well under the regimen of volunteer overwork you've been doing.
