Gnomon - time to move on Started conversation Dec 21, 2009
We don't get snow in December here in Dublin, but there was a frost overnight. As I walked to work, the ground sparkled under the streetlights, like a million tiny diamond, or a sprinkling of pixie dust.

The temperature in Cork this morning was -2 degrees, which is as cold as I ever remember here. It was a very beautiful morning here too.

It was a clear sky, so I managed to see Mars, Saturn and Spica, which is a star I don't see very often.

Oh Gnoman,
The joy of being able to go out and walk on frost... but still. I reckon I am so pleased to be alive.
Thank you for your friendship and for all your have done for me in keeping me going. I am most grateful for it. I am still having troulbes with the other private site. I may have to change everything or get an expert in to fix it. The problem is that lots of people call themselves experts and are not. !!
May I wish you, and Madame Gnoman, and the two young Mlles. Gnoman of musical fame, the very best for the festive season and a great deal of happiness and success in the coming year of 2010.
Go well,
Christiane and Keith.

It wasn't so sparkly this morning, but much colder. The black pools of water turned out to be black pools of ice. I had to tread very carefully on my way into work.
I'm finishing at 12 today, then I'm off for Christmas until the 4th of January! (Although I'm providing 24-hour support by phone on three of those days - it is likely I will not be called).

I wish you, and your family, a Very Happy Christmas Gnomon. I'm also hoping you are not needed over the Holiday.

We're having a small Christmas dinner tomorrow, just my immediate family, my father and stepmother, and my sister. That's just 7 of us.
On Sunday, two of Mrs G's brothers are coming with their families so that will be 12 of us.
Then on the 31st, we're going to visit my brother Zube in Athlone for a couple of days.
So plenty of time for eating, drinking and being merry. I've also asked for 5 entries to sub-edit as I should easiy have a bit of time on my hands. (If not at Christmas, then when?)
