Welcome to h2g2! I'm one of the Assistant Community Editors, so if you need any advice on anything h2g2 related, feel free to ask!
If you're looking for somewhere to go, you might want to try the welcome page for newcomers - http://www.h2g2.com/Welcome-Newcomers - or the Aces' homepage - http://www.h2g2.com/Aces - which has lots of interesting links. Also, if you click on the h2g2 logo in the top left corner, it will take you back to the front page, which gets updated daily with all the latest goodies.
While you're here, it would be great if you could contribute to the guide - try searching for some topics that interest you, and if there are no current entries on those topics, why not write one? If you're interested, have a look at http://www.h2g2.com/writing-guidelines for an idea of what we're looking for.
So, mutton chops, you say?

Finally! Someones talking to me, superb.
Do you agree about mutton chops, on a farmer they can be most amusing. I'm thinking about writing an article but I haven't got a clue what on.

That's a grand idea, I might just do that, thanks for the idea.

Do my eyes deceive me, or do I espy another tortured soul struggling under the burden of an uninspired education system? Hmmm, form 6, I think that comes up to the 12th standard, doesn't it? That would set me a year behind you, since I'm in the 11th standard(whatever form that might be) Maybe you should be grateful, the Indian education system is a lot worse(wonder why we rule the roost at NASA and Silicon Valley) - its an old relic of the days when the British ruled us...seems they threw the system out a century ago...And I suppose I should be grateful, because the Japanese have even worse problems - ah, what the heck, why take the fun out of bad-mouthing the education system? After all, everything is relative, and what I don't know can't hurt me...
Anyway, gotta go, catch ya later

Your eyes do not lie. I am in the 2nd year of sixth form so I'm in year 13. I am studing how to pass exams in physics, chemistry, electronics and general subjects, what are you studying? Personally I think that education can take the fun out of anything they teach, no matter what, unless you get one of the rare teachers who can inspire you. Do you find the same at your school, at home I can enjoy learning, but not in school.

This might sound strange, but I'm also studying Physics, Chem and Electronics, not to mention Maths and English...This year is basically what we call TP(Indian slang for "time pass"), its next year that we have to worry about. Getting into a good university depends solely on your marks in year 12, and with all the bloody quotas which the fools in charge have put up, you have to be one of the top guys to get in anywhere! That's why I'm trying for the Joint Entrance Exam of the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT). In case it sounds familiar, 90% of the Indians who rule the roost at Silicon Valley are from here. Its the only exam in our country which tests your knowledge rather than your memory, which is why I think its the safest bet. You don't even have to worry about getting a job once you're in, you get recruited before your final exam. The only problem is that the entrance exam is so devilishly hard, that only the best in India get in - the stats are 1500 out of 100000 applicants.
This I gotta manage along with the demands of the 12th standard, so H2G2 will be seeing me a lot less next year...

So thats a coincidence about our subjects at school! Anyways I just went to your page and although the special effects are funky they hurt my eyes. It sounds as though your doing to damn well at school for my liking. Through a combination of downright laziness and crappy teaching (one of our physics teachers was late for nearly every lesson and was fired for crappyness, 94% of my class had to retake) I'm not doing, to well. Actually it's late and I'd better be going. See ya.
