Hmmm ... of all the bars, in all the towns, I had to walk into this one ....
*Checks jukebox*
Hey! Classical .... Beethoven ..... piano sonatas ... on original instruments ..... G Lancaster playing the Waldstein Sonata ... Yes!!! *Pushes buttons. The musical tale of horses' hooves at high speed ... a coach dashing across a midnight landscape towards an eventful meeting ...*
*Wanders over to bar; inspects bottles*
Hm - very civilised ... even several whisky bottles without the "e".
*Helps himself to three fingers of Lagavulin (malt) plus a little water, sits back, and relaxes to the music*

Great music you picked... I'm sorry we haven't any legos around... but I am sure that if St. Bob wanders into this forum, he'll have some appear sure enough!!! He's great at that...
Make yourself at home.
I do believe you are the first alchemist and Archangel to visit Bacchus Bar!!!

Thank you for the welcome - the place feels very homely.
*Looks at his clothes, and checks behind his shoulders*
Ah! Wings .. Seems that I qualify for the "Archangel" tag ... and happy to endorse the place for you. Unfortunately, I think the Alchemist was only a Halloween costume character .... I can't seem to remember much about that party ... except a beautiful cat, I think ... Were you there? I wish it was still going on ....
Still, this bar is friendly enough. Care to join me for a drink, Dragonfly?

Yes, I was there... thank you for the kind words about my place...
::sits down beside him, a once gold cat collar is worn around her ankle, yet neither of them have noticed it yet. She crosses her ankle under the stool and leans onto the bar, too deeply involved in what she is saying to notice the metal on her right ankle::
It's a clever costume, anyhow.
I heard about a lovely black cat. Someone told me a made a good one. So I guess I transformed the LEGO CAR into a cat at some point or another.
I was in the coffee cup costume, you silly!!!
I wish the party was still going on, too... especially if there was a darling cat there... and I'll take you up on your offer. Milk sounds quite good, thank you!!

*Kes looks round the bar, but sees no milk. ... A memory flash .. he reaches into his pocket, and pulls out two objects. One is a small carton of milk, which he pours into a glass for Dragonfly*
There you are, D - enjoy ...
*He was going to say more, but is distracted by a glint of gold round D's ankle. Then he looks at the other object ... a small LEGO bulldozer.*
Er, yes, well, it used to be a hobby of mine. Not sure how that got there.
*As he puts it away, he notices that one of the caterpillar tracks is missing ...*
Yes - of course - the coffee cup .. and I was the coffee pot ... that's right ... is it? Something about the cat ... do you remember?

Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde Posted Nov 2, 2000
I bet it was a cat belonging to one of the witches. I remember the witches of East Wick were there, and I saw a few strange dances in the air.
But--
::sees the LEGO bulldozer and glares at it::
::Thinks:: Those silly muses don't pick up after themselves!!!
But I do wish I knew who was lucky enough to have the cat. Not that I need a cat. I have that trochee to take care of. How's your Thesaurus doing!??
The Alchemist muses on life ...
Kes Posted Nov 2, 2000
Yes, that someone would be very lucky ... though, of course, no-one vers owns a cat ... cats don't have owners ... they have devoted staff.
The Thesaurus is alright, I suppose. He seems to have settled into his new enclosure, but he's eating an awful lot of synonyms, and he keeps bullying the poor little pocket dictionaries - shouting all the words they don't know ... I hope he'll calm down soon.
Trochee - of course .... when's the, er, happy event due, as it were?

Springish, US Time...
Your Thesaurus needs to go to Obedience School, it sounds like. Of course, that's usually just a phase. I'd be proud if I knew a bunch of words that the pocket dictionaries didn't have. Just don't throw a foreign language dictionary into the bunch... that can get messy!!!
Sounds like you have a kennel of pets!!!
Point taken about cats not having owners, although I personally know of three exceptions name Jasper, Tabby... and their mother, Cali!!!

Kes Posted Nov 2, 2000
Cats are so fortunate ... some days I envy them. Wouldn't you like to be a cat some days?
*Catches another glimpse of something golden on Dragonfly's ankle, but knows it would be rude to stare at a lady's ankle*

::scratches her cheek, finding it odd that there's not something in the way of it::
I pretended to be a cat every day in my young days!!!
It's the only way to go!!!
::wonders if her muses are going to break into the discussion::
::hopes her muses break into the discussion, because she has a feeling she should be remembering something about Kes...::

Muse breaking into the discussion,
"Muse of Hockey, running a mad dash up the stairs from the basement."
sees that the assembled throngs are confused
"Oh the basement. Well all basements are just kinda connected. By that spooky dark spot in the corner. Even the CotLD (Corner of the Laughing Dog) has that spooky spot. I have mine next to a life size statue of Scooby-Doo made of Lego. Right there on the West Wall, neat the Av's Stanley cup banner. You didn't know you had a basement? Your spooky corner is next to the Hades statue.
wonders if he can borrow a clean bowl
"Hey can I borrow a bowl. Mine ran out so I need some magic for it."
The Alchemist muses on life ...
Kes Posted Nov 2, 2000
*Broken train of thought .... bowl .... magic ... bowl ... milk ... why milk? what magic? ... thoughts gone*
Oh, OK Skylion - borrow the spare bowl here ... but I haven't any magic.

::sings:: Do you believe in magic!??
In a young girl's heart!??
I've not forgotten about the wine cellar you call a basement, dear Sky... after all this is Bacchus Bar, so it's only suiting that we have a wine cellar...
I'm too afraid to approach the statue of Hades, especially since his corner is soooo spooky!!! So I would've never known I'm connected to the Corner of the Laughing Dogs!!! How wonderful!!! This could come in most useful...
::Is really loving the idea::
You muses are so smart... Zeus knows you don't get it from your father!!!

I think I enjoyed it a lot ... but it seems rather like the '60s ... you know? if you were there, you don't remember anything about it .. . I seem to remember witches, and a triplicate cat ...how's your memory going?

I think I left the tv on when I went to sleep after getting home from the party, because I remember something about John Elway, and hearing RINGO's voice...
I also think I was dreaming about Christmas... when I was a kid, I guess... I was much smaller... and playing in this WONDERFUL LEGO CAR...
Kinda like that LEGO bulldozer...
(The writer in her resists putting tm after the word LEGO)

Oh, I'm sorry I blacked out. No, it's not a wine cellar at all. Those have big racks of wine. This is the basement above. I has a whole bunch of those lego blocks however stacked in the corner.

I remember a black cat ... that disco-danced ... and that turned into three cats, but only one came back to the party. I remember .... I didn't go as a coffee pot! I was an Alchemist, and I dangled a piece of string for the cat ...
*Pulls out a handkerchief, and dangles it* --- like that.
