Ac-1D Started conversation Feb 3, 2000
no idea why but everything is feeling really cool at the moment

Ac-1D Posted Feb 7, 2000
I just realised from my obviously befuddled wording that everything has been in the fridge for the last few days and consequently is feeling cool. This is strange because the lights are on and therefore the door must be open.

Mmm.....if you keep the door open for too long the fridge will start to leak...

hey was your quote above from the clive james book "brilliant creatures"? because it's really weird that on the way home from work yesterday I found a box of old paperbacks that someone was throwing away and in amongst the horrible dross of wilbur smith and harold robbins I found the above title (and 1 or 2 others) which I took home and proceeded to read while lying on my bed with a cup of tea and I happened to find that very same quote which was a really unusual coincidence.
clive james is a rather clever bloke, by the way.

Nope. It is just something I say sometimes,I really thought i was being clever too, damn. Ah, well that is very strange...but hey its JRRT "Many are the strange chances of the world" the more i think about it, the queerer it gets.

obviously you are a very clever person if you can reproduce unaided, the witticisms of mr james who is renowned worldwide for his snappy one liners and linguistic swordfighting...
I love it when really out of it coincidences happen...

I like to think so. Perhaps I telepathically picked it up. Coincidences are fun but they seem to happen to me way to often. I don't remember if i mentioned that once, (acutally only my 2nd time on shrooms when i was 17) While i was tripping face I went to a stream that I had never been to and laid down, i felt something under my head. Coincidentally it was a white cloth bag with a draw string that said mushrooms on it and had this fabulous picture of tripppy shrooms on it. (i think it was a regular produce bag or something) but while i was spicking ( my verb for tripping) it freaked me so bad that I hid it in the bottom of my pocket and refused to look at it until the drugs wore off. Alas, it was still there. I have it, its a great piece of trip memorabelia. Also street lights have the bad habit of turning off when i walk under them, it happens atleast 6 times a week, amongst other seemingly random coincidences. And I have once been obsessively stalked by a person with bipolar disorder. I have no idea what the last part has to do with coincidence but I felt that it was weird and should be allowed inclusion in this paragraph. Ack. i still think it's strange. But the world is strange, so i guess i'll get over it./

I get people I don't know calling me on the phone... weird... they want to know about mail... even weirder...
actually I think that street light thing is due to an anti vandalism mechanism that makes them turn off when you shake them so stupid punks will think they've wrecked them and move on to smashing car windows. when they're set too sensitively it kind of defeats the purpose, freaking you out more rather than providing a comforting an illuminating aura of safety to your urban surroundings...
yay for shrooms. I like your word.
I think shrooms make you hyper-sensitive to coincidences you would ordinarily not notice...

Imaldris Posted Feb 10, 2000
hmm... that is weird. Have you thought about involving some police investigation in the matter...?
The whole light thing really does freak me out. For some reason I like to go wandering the streets in the middle of the night, and whenever I naturally start to make myself into a paranoid schizophrenic the lights turn off and make it even worse. I have one street light that I'm on a familiar basis with now, we're almost friendly, it's name is Montague. Its on my street in the student ghetto I've been forced to exist in. It turns on when I walk up the street and turns off when I walk down the street. Sort of peculiar but I've come to accept the communications from Montague as if they were in good faith. But all the other STREET LIGHTS DAMMIT are not my friends especially when you have dark alley ways with shadows of perv psychos waiting in each and every one of them...
Anywho, thanks spicking sounds especially nice when you say it with a metallic sort of ring to the ing. Yeh, everything becomes coincidence on shrooms. What a coincidence, I'm enroute to purchasing some this week and very happy about it, I can't wait until I'm spicking all over the place...... However I think that especially strange occurences have a magnetic attraction to trippers.

Ac-1D Posted Feb 10, 2000
that's true because usually that's the attraction of drugs like mushrooms. the people who like to use them usually have a yearning for something that doesn't fit into square old society to happen and therefore, with a little help from the psilocybin, will be drawn to strange situations.
I would be quite interested to know what steiner thought of mushrooms. I don't know that he was ever given the opportunity to experiment with drugs but I think he would have been able to shed a light on the psychic and spiritual effects.
say hello to montague for me and yes most streetlamps are evil. the only time I like them is when the sun has come up but they haven't been turned off yet so they are kind of ineffectual and sad. especially if it's rained the night before, and you're really tired cos you've been up all night.

Cirlce gets a square. I love the strange situations...I can't get enough. It gives you great unrealities to reminisce upon. "Hey bob remember last year when we saw that officer melt in the middle of the crosswalk...that was awesome...." An eavesdropper might think this is a strange conversation and either assume that the particpants are insane, or that they watched some strange accident....no, no they were only on shrooms. Its really funny about the realtionships you can have with inanimate objects, I haven't gotten to the point of thinking that large things aren't animate yet.
Oh, the last part, yeh, I like to watch the exact moment the lights go off, it feels like you have witnessed one of the unknown mysteries...a little bit.

just a little bit.... just after the streetlights go out is the best time to go to bed and sleep the sleep of the utterly exhausted.
have you seen "dream with the fishes"? there's a wicked tripping scene...

Imaldris Posted Feb 16, 2000
I have heard of it, but sadly enough I have not seen it. I think they play it on the bravo channel... Exhausted sleep is better than any other sleep in my opinion. After trip sleep is great too...

Ac-1D Posted Feb 16, 2000
after trip sleep usually is the sleep of the exhausted!
I wish I could sleep right now. I'm sure no one here would notice
