I once visited PR and spent a MAGICAL evening in a restaurant/hotel at the top of PR town.
I suppose I might remember the name but it escapes me right now.
Owners are (were?) an American artist lady and a horse riding man from South America.
Lots of parrots, pictures, atmosphere in abundance.

It's possible that I was at the restaurant you remember so fondly, but it doesn't ring a bell. The Puerto Rican adventure was truly a chaotic one for me, between being alone in a country where I was considered an aberration and had to learn the language, and ending up as controller for a company with no qualifications for the job whatsoever.

Seems like when I wasn't working (and I worked a LOT!) I was gallivanting around exploring or letting off some steam snorkeling. I left there in 1995 and would love to visit again, on vacation, and relax and enjoy some of the aspects of the island which I never had the time for while I lived there. I so miss the little villages in the mountains, where the people took me into their homes, and taught me to meringue, and how to cook strange foods. And would love to revisit the rainforest for more than a couple of hours. Have never been in such a small place with so much geographical diversity! Almost all of my good memories are of my adventures outside of San Juan, and the little surprises I found along the way.

So tell me, what were you doing there? What was your impression of the island? What else did you see? Do you intend to return?
