Hi Intern and Danny B.

Are guitar-related horror stories anything like the mad axe-man jokes people used to make about bass/guitar players? smiley - biggrin

Mad axe-men? Well, nobody's ever accused me of being one! Guitar horror stories generally just involve bleeding fingers at some point smiley - tongueout

I used to have a strange mixture of physical distortions from the various musical instruments I play. I don't so much now because I don't play them all so much now. I don't think I ever had a guitar string or violin string snap on me. I did have problems with being allergic to the horse-hair bow though. smiley - weird

It funny to say you get used to them snaping on you and learn to move your hand out the way very fast indeed

How did you manage when you found
you was ellergic to the bow

I did quite a bit of sneezing and had to carry hankies with me at all times anyway. I just had to be careful not to let the bow strings touch me (which of course they shouldn't if one is using it properly) and clean my hands after doing any re-stringing before touching my face etc. I have slightly better (and more) drugs these days and I don't play as much - as I said before. Actually the hair and jumpers of the people in front and around me were about as much of a liability allergy wise. So it was good when I was first violin - no one immediately in front to flick their hair at me. smiley - winkeye

My other instruments were less allergenic but still mostly involved being in an orchestra with other people. I would never have made it as a glam rocker with a guitar of course - all that long hair and make-up. smiley - yikes
