Congratulations! Joy to the virtual world and may your wedded bliss be eternal - unlike the virtual world, which has this annoying habit of stopping every once in a while...smiley - winkeye!

I like weddings. I think I'd better get me over to the party...

Congratulations Doug and Ginger and Ginger and Doug (an equal opportunity greetingsmiley - winkeye)!

My personal log of long, friendly chats lists those with Doug and with Ginger... and with Doug and Ginger (and Ginger and Doug) as the longest and friendliest. I wish you every happiness.

Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here

*Loony, finds a quiet spot to brush up on his "virtual groomsman" speech*

Most folks would register at an upmarket emporium or someplace normal. Not Doug and Ginger. They're registered with PC Warehouse and Mac Connection (URLs available upon request).

The families did require Doug and Ginger to provide a more traditional list of wants and needs however. So ultimately, they compiled, er, complied. They included the normal stuff... blender, toaster oven, electric mixer, food processor. But they categorised them all as 'plug-ins.'

There was a moment or two of roughness. Ginger kept arguing that communication was important in a marriage, so Doug finally bought another computer and a second phone line so he and Ginger could chat. The topic of their first real spat though... Mac vs. Windows.

At work, Doug has been introducing Ginger as his future "service provider." Turn-about is fair play, of course; and Ginger isn't referring to Doug as her future husband. She says he's a forthcoming Add-On (currently in Beta release).

Thus far at all showers and pre-ceremony events Doug and Ginger have seemed very happy. How happy? It's sickening. They keep tilting their heads sideways to smile at each other. smiley - smiley

Now, don't get me wrong. Doug and Ginger are very serious about this endeavour. They have put an access counter on the door to the church and the reception hall. The reception will be a little bare compared to most though. They're serving cookies and java.

The plan for the wedding? Doug and Ginger have written the ceremony themselves...in GuideML. The ushers will just pass out little slips of paper with URLs. All invitations came with a little slip of paper that said 'This wedding best viewed with Netscape Navigator.'

Doug and Ginger will spend all their days and nights of their honeymoon....

Please raise your glasses in a toast to the happy couple. Ginger and Doug. Cheers smiley - bigeyes

To Ginger and Doug,

Well who would have thought that the good old Guide would lead to this.

I wish you all the best in the future, and hope to see you around now and then.

I will make sure I get in contact with you both when I get over to Ireland/UK for work, then we can have the celebration drink

Regards
Mr Garibaldi
