That's the best thing to extend the life of your tatoo(using sunblock), the sun and uv radiation are the worst enemies of your ink. My wife is still working on her design, but we have picked a good artist to do the work when it is ready. He is the same one who did her body piercing, and is quite good. She has several piercings in each ear and a pierced navel. We used a different guy for her tongue piercing (much to our regret) he did a poor job and it had to be taken out because the hole was crooked and difficult to get the post into. when it has healed fully, we'll go back to our old guy to get it re-done. A word of warning to those who want their tongue pierced: when they use the spray-on anesthetic make sure to push your tongue out far enough and curl it up when they numb the bottom. the top is easy to spray properly but if your tongue is too far inside your mouth, it is difficult to get good coverage of the bottom, and it might not be properly numbed. This can be painful! If you get it done by someone who knows what they are doing, it is a safe and relativly painless proceedure. Good luck!!

Thanks for the advice on the tongue piercing. That's something I want done, but I'm still a bit nervous of.
I'm busy thinking up my next tattoo design as I want another one at the end of this month. I quite like the idea of the thing (can't remember what it's called)in the middle of a 45" single. Some are very interesting to look at.

I know exactly what you're talking about, although I can't remember the name either. Don't bother asking anyone younger than twenty, as they will probably never have seen one, and have no idea what you are talking about. The vinyl record has gone the way of the dinosaur, and there aren't that many of us who remember record players, even the cd is slowly becoming obsolete. Good luck on your next design.

In fact, the worst part of large tattoos (if you get them done all at once) is sitting still
for an extended length of time. The sting of the needle will eventually become almost
unnoticeable. Just a natural reaction of the body, as far as I know, the skin in the area
will naturally become numb. Alternatively, If you can't sit still for extended periods of
time, the work can be done in two or maybe even more visits, e.g. The outline in one
sitting, the coloring in the next sitting, and shading in the final sitting. One disadvantage
of this is that you have to wait for the previous work to be fully healed (no longer flaking)
before the next part can be done. Something interesting for you if anyone reading this
is a frequent visitor of nightclubs containing blacklights ( the ones that don't actually
illuminate anything, just produce a light which causes bright colors, mainly white, to
"glow in the dark" A new type of tattoo ink has been released onto the market, which
is invisible until exposed to these blacklights.......Get an eye tattooed in the middle of
your forehead.......

I have since found that the light produced by blacklights is actually UV light,
so the contact lenses mentioned above would be made from the same material as
the UV body jewellery. I have also decided to get my tongue pierced, as close to
my 21st birthday as possible......I know of at least three women that want to see
it when it's fully healed
