A couple of points on camping I feel were missed:
1) ensure your tent is on some form of slope. You may wake up with your head half way into your rucksack, but should the heavens begin the deluge then the waters simply flow by...
1a) Also for the same reason try to pitch the aforementioned tent with the door not only out of the prevailing wind, but also downslope. This way in the morning you shouldn't wake to find the water flowing into the tent when you open the door.
2) geography - this changes at Glasto. prepare for it by not looking at any maps. I'm not speaking about any intoxicaticant's effects, but the flags people take to find their own tent. It seems like a good idea, however unless you have a flag of the fallen madonna with the big boobies from 'Allo Allo! then someone else will have the same one. Therefore notice what neighbouring countries are around you. eg This year we went to the back of the other stage, walked toward Belgium, veered off between the pirate flags for Norway and stopped halfway between. By half four in the morning it proves worthwhile.
