It's a type of soft icing. Means a sort of classic gooey stuff.

Look on the descriptions in your next box of Milk Tray. Fondant is just sugar really, melted to soft - not caramelised. Comes from the French for "to melt", and is the present participle. So does "Fondue" but that's the past participle and is made with cheese. Which ought to tell us something, but I fail to see what.
