After the H2IQ New Year Derby, four researchers were telling everyone who had won. Unfortunately, the researchers were having problems with their memories and in the course of the evening they changed their minds a number of times. In summary they made the following statements:
Whisky said:
Steve Short won on Trigger.
Tim Tiny won on Red Rum.
Dave Diddy won on Trigger.
Gnomon said:
Simon Small won on Black Beauty.
Dave Diddy won on Trigger.
Steve Short won on Red Rum.
Titania said:
Tim Tiny won on Black Beauty.
Simon Small won on Black Beauty.
Simon Small won on Red Rum.
Dr St. Justin said:
Tim Tiny won on Trigger.
Dave Diddy won on Red Rum.
Simon Small won on Black Beauty.
However, none of the statements were fully true. In fact, only six of the statements were exactly half true, the rest were false. Can you determine who won and which horse they were riding?

Ok, after several stress free weeks, I see the quiz is going to start playing havoc with my blood pressure again.

Well done, Titania. I think Whisky probably made the same mistake as I did and thought Steve and Simon were the same person. So once again, Titania streaks into the lead!

6 of the statements are half right
Each horse is mentioned 4 times
Picking one of these horses as being 4 of the 6 half rigths leavs only the other half (the rider) 2 times
Steve Short is the only rider mentioned twice

Congratulations Titania,

Yes, but don't get too excited, you can't see much because her four foot long beard gets in the way.
OMG I must have a death wish... I shudder to think what's going to happen on the 26th

What a pity Gnomon isn't coming...
*notices that Gonzo is coming too, and maybe Justin too*
*planning a multi-assassination plot to reduce competition*

Hi.
I'm too late for this quiz aren't I?
*waits for the next one, though this one was really hard and I don't think I'm in with much of a chance*
