GreeboTCat

Last night, I was looking at a road sign and could see that Leeds was 13 miles away, Stoke was 13 miles away and Leek was 10 miles away. Unfortunately it was too dark to see how far it was to Manchester. Can you help me?

I make it to be 3*number of letters minus 2.
Leeds 5*3-2=13
Stoke 5*3-2=13
Leek 4*3-2=10
So Manchester 10*3-2=28

Or 3 points for each consonent and two for each vowel
MNCHSTR 3 x 7 = 21
AEE 2 x 3 = 6

21 + 6 = 27

smiley - erm
are we both right?

Hi Titania! It's nice to hear someone complaining about Netscape. It makes a pleasant change from slagging off Microsoft.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know how the set up the way through proxy-servers and firewalls and stuff - tried installing a Messenger once, but failed - and since the IT-dept. sits 10 floors down from me I rarely run into them and don't really know anyone well enough to ask (we're not supposed to install anything at all unless it comes from them, but...) *shrugs*

...and as for IE vs Netscape I find that N. crashes a couple of times each day, something that rarely happened with IE, N. is slower because of all the plug-ins for variuos stuff, and I haven't been able to find any keyboard commands for things like refreshing/reloading or change the size of the window or...smiley - sadface

smiley - wah Titania, you can't be that ignorant, or have they deliberatly stripped your netsmiley - sheep?

For changing window size use the button in the upper right corner with the two squares, between the "underscore" and the "cross".
Use your mouse to drag the window to the size you want.

There should be a "refresh" button on the "navigation" toolbar.
Go "view", "show", and put a mark on "navigation toolbar".

Unless your local BOFH has hidden those thingssmiley - grr

I thought it was:

Leeds = 4 letters + 1 = 13 miles

Stoke = 4 letters + 1 = 13 miles

Leek = 4 letters = 10 miles

So Manchester = 4 letters + 6 letters at a value of 3 miles each = 28 miles

Oh, well...

I said 'keyboard commands' Marjin - I rarely use the mouse if I can avoid it!
