Actually, I stole the name from an episode of "Doctor Who."

I try to be a heretic in the traditional sense. I was raised Catholic, but question everything I was taught.

I also try to be a cultural heretic, defying or questioning popular opinion.

For example, I keep trying to convince people the Lunar landings were a hoax.

I had a friend who thought that. His big thing was, "If the film is real, how did they get the rocket leaving on there?" I couldn't resist the temptation, so I asked him when TV broadcasting was invented. Now he is convinced that the government is watching all of us, all the time.

It's always a good idea to question what you are taught. Just don't fall into the trap of disregarding perfectly good ideas because the people who had them first were wankers.

Incidentially, I've been trying to convince people that they have to wear tinfoil hats to keep the aliens from beaming their thoughts onto alien primetime TV.

I have a big problem with the behavior of the regolith (the fine dust allegedy covering the surface of Luna) and its behavior in motion pictures supposedly taken on the Lunar surface.

Astronauts described the regolith as having a consistency something akin to plaster of paris. And yet this substance behaves much like sand would on the surface of Terra.

While the astronauts cavort around bouncing easily in one-sixth the gravity of Terra, this supposedly fine dust cascades right back to the ground when disturbed.

And the regolith underneath the landing module is smooth and seemingly undisturbed. Wouldn't large craters have been blasted out by the retro rockets that slowed the lander's descent?

True, but if the lunar landing was a hoax, then so by implication is space travel in general. If this is so, then how does satelite TV actually work, and also what was that big firey thing I saw in go past when I was four and the disintigrating remains of Skylab alledgedly passed overhead.

I didn't say ALL space travel was a hoax, just the Lunar landing.

I'm sure we've put people and things into orbit around Terra, but the logistics of putting people on Luna and getting them back again are just terrible.

Anyway, if we've been there, why haven't we gone back?
