Titan revealed?
Woodpigeon Started conversation Jan 13, 2005
The Huygens probe drops into Saturn's moon Titan tomorrow. This promises to be very interesting as surface features of the moon have been completely hidden from view due to its thick methane atmosphere. Even more interesting is the possible presence of lakes of liquid methane! Does anyone know exactly when this will take place, and even more importantly: when we will start seeing pictures here on Earth?

BBC2 (if you can get it) has a special programme tonight at 11:30pm covering the landing.
I was looking at Saturn through the telescope last night thinking of the little Huygens probe on its way down to Titan. It's an amazing achievement to have got it this far.
The Guardian newspaper ran a competition just before Christmas to win a seat at mission control during the landing - unfortunately I didn't win but I'll make do with watching events unfold on the TV & PC screens.
