Comet Spotting

Phil

Has anyone been able to see either of the two bright comets yet?
C/2001 Q4 (Neat) and C/2002 T7 (LINEAR) OK so Linear isn't quite over the equator yet but this site is global smiley - smiley

Hurray! smiley - biggrin The clouds mostly cleared last night and I saw comet NEAT at last. A fuzzy patch in Cancer, seen through the binoculars, not far down from the Beehive cluster. Now hoping for another clear night and a chance to get the scope on it smiley - smiley

It did look good, a nice fuzzy patch, easy to see in binoculars, even with the murk that is Manchester on the western horizon. Should look very good as it passes the beehive cluster in a couple of days or so time smiley - smiley

And there it was last night just near to the behive cluster in Cancer. Lovely. Looking like a little bit of fluff up in the sky next to the jewels that are the stars smiley - smiley
Couldn't see any elongation of it with either the binoculars or telescope but still was fairly easy in binoculars but not quite naked eye.
