A Conversation for The Ultimate Guide to the London Underground - mark II

Being a nutter

I am Scottish, and have recently started using the London Underground. I have discovered that, if I and a couple of friends go to the pub and then use the underground, we seem to fall into the nutter category. We will stand in stations discussing exactly which platform we are looking for, or have conversations on the trains while passing round the Irn Bru. As we do all this in Scots accents we seem to develop an exclusion zone, into which no-one will move, no matter how busy the train or station is. Two of us once almost blocked an entire tunnel in Tottenham Court Road by (mildly) drunkely discussing where we could find a Central Line platform. It definately is somewhat odd, it's not as if we are discussing bombs in an Irish accent or anything, and we certainly don't look particularly viscious. Hey, ho.

It's not that, you're just committing the worst crime in London culture. You're talking while past the ticket gates - it's just 'Not Done'.
Besides, if everyone spoke, you wouldn't be able to listen in on where that group of stupid tourists are staying and what they did today.
