Oh, so you like jazz too? What sort of stuff? I have a really mixed bag here. When it comes to playing the stuff, it always seems to come out in a slightly 50s-styling. That's the best way I can explain my style, because most of the stuff from them can sound like me. I just struggle through, usually my best solos come from not thinking about them. I also love a mean latin rythmn...
One thing I'm really into is the beautiful tone of the Hammond Organ, and various Jimmy Smith records. I love these things, really want to own one when I'm big and have the eight-odd grand - but I can play that style on most keyboards.
Yes, Maths and Chemistry. Though I am definitely *not* a natural chemist, it's far too silly. Maths was good. English is just where my talents lie.
Nice to speak to you Dunc,
Tom.

I don't often get an opportunity to play jazz (I play the clarinet and my teacher refers to jazz as 'Throwing technique out of the window' and in school, our jazz group is limited to celine dion and billy Joel) But I'm getting a few jazzy people together and we're just going to see what happens.
I like a lot of dance and hip-hop that has been heavily influenced by Jazz (like the sort of stuff they play at Subtone) and I also like the sort of music that happened *between* the early new-orleans style and the sixties Fusion stuff.
