Ever since I started wearing glasses for reading I promised myself that one day I'd get a pair of half-moons to perch on the end of my hooter and peer over imperiously.
Well, it's too late now because my middle- and long-distance eyesight has deteriorated to the point where almost everything I'd be peering at would be a blur, and the half-moons would be nothing more than an affectation

I recently purchased two pair of sports style wrap around glasses for riding the motorcycle. My vision had gotten to the point where off the shelf clears and shades weren't cutting it any more. I asked for a copy of my prescription last year so I could order some online. Unfortunately, these styles weren't available for bifocals. I bought them anyway, but I just can't make out the speed and street names on my satnav.
While I'm dissappointed that I can't really use these while 
, I am quite pleased with the quality and price of the glasses I bought online. I got both pair for around $75 total.
I'm due for another check up soon and I'll get a copy of my new 'scrip and do some more searching online and see if I can find some frames that will work with bifocals. I might not need full wrap-arounds, just enough to not fly off my head in the wind when I look to the sides.
Recently the local news "investigated" online glasses vendors and teased the story during the 5:00 and 6:00 shows to watch the 10:00 news for "what you need to know before buying glasses online". The way they hyped it you might worry that spikes would shoot into your eyes if buy glasses online. But I wasn't home for the 10 o'clock news. So I found the story on their website.
So, guess what "you need to know before buying glasses online". You should know that it's a good idea. Yeah. They're good quality glasses. All you're missing is the custom fit you can get buy trying them on before buying them. But the prices are so much better and you can upload a "selfie" and see what they'll look like.
