Next time you're at the supermarket can you check on the price of glacé cherries? And the weight of the package? The only time you can get them here is around Christmas and they're hideously expensive - pre-packed bulk in plastic containers at $5.99 a pound

I'll try to remember to look... the little supermarekt up the road, where I@ll probably be tomorrow (a little Tescos), may have them there,

I think they're about a quid or £1.50 from memory - that's for a small tub about two inches deep.

That sounds about the same size as the ones I saw this morning, which contained roughly a pound each, so at the current exchange rate (according to Bloomberg), that's about £3.82. Considerably more expensive.

I had a check when at the shops:

Buchanan's glacé cherries (100g):
£0.99 (£9.90 per kg).

They only had those two kinds. It looks like they are a fair bit more expensive here.

They're at Dollar Tree this time of year (though usually all gone by now--Christmas stuff shows up around Halloween there...)
