h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Speaking of which, I'm so accustomed to seeing our green/brown anoles around here.


A few years ago, I went to a local nursery, just 10 miles away.

They have a whole other species of anole running around their property.

I'm guessing they are an introduced species that came in with some of their imported plants or trees. They're a bit bigger, maybe 10% larger with brown speckled backs.

I've got mixed emotions about them. While they are attractive, I worry that they'll supplant our anoles.


But then again, they would make attractive earrings.

Well, it's true that Georges do come in multiples - George I, George II, George III, George IV etc

Oh. no. Poor George He will be sorely missed.... I feel we should do something to mark his untimely parting from this mortal coil

To be honest, Dewey put a pretty big dent in the local gecko/anole population so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much And it is nature, red in tooth and claw. Can't complain about that at all.

But... alas poor George, for life pour scorn apon his work.... His mark too fleetingly left across the threshhold of our lives... yet eternal, his memory lives on....

If George II makes an appearance (or it might still be George I - hard to tell), I'll be sure to let everyone know

He was on the outside of the balcony door so I got a couple of shots from inside, which is why the lighting isn't so good (because it's coming towards the camera), then he jumped off the glass and onto the railing.
