I appear to have adopted a lizard
There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Started conversation May 10, 2014
Because I see one on the balcony almost every day so I'm assuming it's the same one. I've no idea if they're nomadic or territorial but it seems a bit too coincidental for there to be a different one in the same spot(s) each day. It's one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anolis_carolinensis and it's a male because I've seen it doing that head-bobbing dewlap-extending thing, like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNCBneT-oGA Which is a territorial thing, it says here, so that settles that argument.
Most of the time he's brown, some of the time he's green.
I will name him George and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him and give him security*
*Same gratuitous Bugs Bunny reference as in the other conversation
Oh, the responsibility.

Those are the ones that Dewey, er, shall we say, used to play with until they stopped moving, then he'd go and find another one

I'm a bit jealous. I quite like lizards, but I haven't managed to adopt one yet. I was adopted by two species of slug today (one yellow-y, one large and dark brown), but it's not really the same as being adopted by your own personal lizard.

I'd take a picture of it, but a) my phone has a crappy camera, and b) because of (a) I'd have to get up close which would scare him off (they're very skittish), and c) getting up close would mean opening the screen door which goes SCREEEEEECH and would also scare him off... probably. Do they have ears?

There are scads of anoles around here. And you can sometimes approach them. When I was a kid, we would catch them. You gotta be a bit careful because if you just grab the tail, they'll break it off leaving it wiggling behind them as they make their escape (they do grow back). Anyway, once we'd catch them we'd let them bite our earlobes and walk around with anole earrings. [Google search for anole earrings.]

Blimey, all that for a bit of rumpy pumpy Mind you, it's cheaper than dinner and movie, but a bit more convoluted than than "Get your coat darlin', you've pulled".
If spiders were like that all the time we'd have no trouble the blighters, would we. Or black and red and handsome like Mexican red-kneed tarantulas. But no, they have to be all leggy and hairy and brown and poisonous.
Er, 2legs, you haven't been paying attention have you. Go back and re-read post 1

Oh dear. Sorry I'm ignorant. What's CRS? I assume it's nothing to do with lizards.

Hmmm, you're definitely not a jumping spider, although you don't look much like a biting spider either.
