2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

smiley - laugh My bathroom is on the second floor, the window overlooks the baron wasteland at the back (sort of car parking and bits behind the shops), and very* distant there is I think some high rise buildings, but quite a long way off smiley - zen err, seconcd floor, is, ground floor, on the ground, first floor, one floor up, and second floor, one floor above the first (a vague recolection that floors are deliminated differntly in the USA) smiley - zen
Mind, I think* when I had the new windows put in, the bathroom one is now a not see through misted or otherwise made not see through thinggy smiley - ermsmiley - zen Actually, why is it, that the bathroom window always ends up so* dirty... you'd think with the ssteam and water about, it ought be self-cleaning... smiley - groan

Not-see-through windows often have a slight texture to them, to hold all the stuff.

I suppose that, in the steam, certain oils from shower gels and soaps and things like that are present. They might leave a residue when they condense on the cool glass.

They (being chemical/home cleaning solution companies) make sprays you can use to eliminate residue buildup on your shower walls and curtains. I've tried them in the past. I recommend against them as I have never had anything that instantly made me gag/choke as those sprays. Whatever they're made of must be quite toxic to simply melt away the oils, proteins and waxes that are left over on your shower walls.

Yeh... I've seen them advertised... l limescale and something remover sprays... bleach with mildew removal stuff.... etc., etc.... I've always considered they're probalby making far too wild a claim, and don't work, so I just use neat bleech instead or ordinary kitchen/bathroom spray stuff, which is mainly bleach anyhow I think, with some kind of scent added, and maybe a detergent thing for removing lipid resides... smiley - alienfrown

I do have my 'nuke it from orbit' oven cleaner spray; I have no idea what make or brand it is, but I've had it for ever... and it is very* strong... there is no amoutn of ventilation that makes it not* sting my lungs to use it smiley - laugh I do keep threatening to use it in the toilet bowl, one day, to see if it'll remove the limescale... but I seriously fear it may just eat the porcaline away, and leave the bowl with a massive hole in it, where there shoudl be no hole smiley - laugh

The shower curtain just gets thrown in with the towels on a hot wash, every now and then... it seems to work, and clean it, right until about t ten minutes after it gos up, then I shower, it gets wet with steam (and probably soap residue), and half an hour later, its had a thin, but noticible layer of dust, settl on it, and weld itself to the curtain matterial with the help of the water on it smiley - grr Mind, I can not be too angry at the dirt, dust and suchlike in this house... in some areas, I think its the only thing holding the interior decoration and fittings in place... let alone the structural aspects of the building smiley - blush
