Can we talk later? I'm getting ready for w**k right now and I won't get home until around 8pm central time (2am GMT), by which time all I'll want to do is have dinner, read a few emails, and log into h2g2.

Here's the state of play so far - I've removed the Linux partition and the primary dos partition (which was showing up as D: on my pc), but the extended dos partition with the logical dos drives in it won't budge. I've downloaded Killdisk which I may have a bash at when I get home depending on how many mails and h2g2 threads there are to deal with.
