Hi Granny,
I've just read what you've written about scoliosis - it is a very informative article, and well written!
You've written your entry in your own personal space, but you have pre-empted my intended words of wisdom, and done it as a guide entry as well.
The link you need is:

Best wishes

HELP!!!!
I just deleted my scoliosis entry from my user space, but now appear to have lost my guide entry!
I'm new to H2G2 (in case you hadn't noticed!!) and as soon as I think I've got the hang of it, something disatrous happens!
Please help me recover my entry - spent ages doing it.

Don't worry - I have acopy of it still open in my browser. I've copied it to a text file on my PC.
What I will do is put the text file up on the internet at:
[Broken link removed by Moderator]
Open that in a browser, select all the text, and copy it.
Then paste it into a new guide entry.
Hope that makes sense.

I think its all my fault. I am truly deeply sorry. If you have problems, get back to me - I have all your text sitting right in front of me. If you want, I can convert it to guideML for you before you copy it.

I am SO grateful, Adam, THANKS!
Just copied and pasted it - don't worry about the guideML, I'll tackle that myself.
PS. Are you a doc?

A&E at the moment in South Wales.
My boyfriend keeps telling me how wonderful surgery is, but that's not my cup of tea.
Interested in palliative care, but still not got my career fully planned.

I used to be a clinical oncology SHO - did lots of palliative care stuff in that job. It was *THE* most rewarding thing I've ever done. The knowledge that somebody is going to have quality of life and dignity in the last months/ weeks/ years of their life is something I will never forget. Of course, it can be emotionally draining, but it is well worth it. It would be a career move you would never regret.
BTW, where abouts are you in S Wales - I'm trying to track an old colleague of mine down called Simon Bedwani. Last I heard he was in S Wales doing a paeds rotation. Not by any chance at your hospital is he?

Oh great. Now I'm worried.. My mum's been pointing out the fact that one of my shoulder blades sticks out a little. Oh dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit dammit! I'll have to get it checked out now.
Now back to the entry itself:
Very good entry. Only a few things I can see straight away that you should correct -
"The aim of this forum is to provide information to others.."
1. It's not a forum, it's a Guide Entry
2. That's what all (most! ) of the Entries do - so no need to say that.
Apparently you're not meant to write from a personal point of view. In this case it gives a case example, but I'm not sure whether that would be alright..
Some other information which might be useufl would include:
. What known causes are there of Scoliosis?
I'm scared now!

Well I have got scoliosis after all.

Golden Delicious Posted Aug 22, 2000
The best way to check if you have scoliosis is to bent forward to touch your toes. If (you'll probably need a mate to have a look) there is a hump on one side of the back, then it is probably scoliosis.
Scoliosis is fairly common, and most cases are mild and need no treatment - just a watchful eye to see if the curve gets worse.
In answering the question on the causes of scoliosis, the majority of cases occur in adolescents (90% are girls), and the cause is unknown. This type is known as 'idiopathic'. Some of the (rarer) known causes include: 1. Congenital causes such as spina bifida. 2. Neuromuscular causes such as neurofibromatosis, poliomyelitis. 3. Limb equality - unequal leg lengths.

An even better way - see a doctor!!
Yay, I get to see an orthopaedic thingywotsit.
The entry is fantastic, methinks it's got a great chance of getting picked.

HELP WONKY DOC!!
I'm trying to edit my guide entry and it keeps telling me I have a 'bad closing element BODY expecting P'
This is baffling me because I had not altered the end part of the entry - it is identical to how it was previously, yet it was ok before.
